Over the last 2 years of working with real estate agents in Brisbane we've seen some amazing things:

A highly dominant agent with 35% market share plummet to 9%, we had a meeting when she was at 35% but the principal put the kybosh on an agreement, based on “the PA can do that”…..and yes the PA “did that”(well not really they did what they thought was “that”) and hey presto hello 9%. The story has a nice ending though because as I write that agent is back up to 10%.
 
A whole Brand(big brand) decide to bring online marketing in-house just as we had pitched to them, little did we know our meeting was only about draining our knowledge just before this happened. That’s ok we now have clients taking market share from them as their crazy execution of what they thought we said unfolds, we love it when our client’s competition disintegrates.
 
The most surprising thing of all for us is that it’s the independant agencies that have worked our systems, in some cases an independent agent is in a big brand but has an independent deal and in other cases the agent/agency is a stand alone brand. We have now come to realise that we think master franchises are really not at all keen on individual agents getting bigger, the risk of moving brands or setting up on their own grows and we get that, it is indeed a risk but that’s a very defensive attitude we don’t want to grow revenue for the agent or the agency because of the risk of departure.

Suffice to say when we started working with agents 2 years ago and took Alex Jordan from $40 million to $80 million, we didn't expect the market share graphs below would unfold with other clients:

The thing is online is being done so badly in Qld by 95% of the real estate industry the opportunity to do it well is huge.
